Waiata Māori Music Awards 2010

The Waiata Māori Music Awards are being held on Friday 10 September 2010 at the Hawkes Bay Opera House in Hastings. The awards ceremony will be broadcast by Radio Kahungunu through the Iwi Radio Network and by Māori Television.

This prestigious music awards event seeks to develop, encourage and honour the achievements of outstanding traditional and contemporary musical compositions and performances.

A Māori Music Expo will be held on 9 September where modern and traditional musicians and composers will offer their advice and experience in a series of workshops and forums. Entry to the expo is free. Later that evening Te Kōanga Māori Music Fashion Show will be held, mixing live music with work from prominent Hawkes Bay designers.
