Te Paepae Ataata Charitable Trust is currently inviting applications for funding from Maori writers and film-makers to write and develop feature films.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 31st January 2010. Further application rounds will be held in April, July and October of this year.
Applicants may apply for funding towards the cost of a mentor or other third party additional costs to assist in the development of a project. The level of funding will be determined by Te Paepae Ataata.
The Paepae are Ainsley Gardiner, Rawiri Paratene, Tainui Stephens, Merata Mita, and Kathryn Akuhata-Brown.

Te Paepae Ataata is an Incorporated Charitable Trust that has been operating since 2008. The purposes of Te Paepae Ataata are to:
- Identify and support Maori film-makers
- Nurture Maori cinema
- Develop select scripts to production readiness
- Celebrate the film voice of tangata whenua
